Ichilov Hospital announced last night (Friday) that 11-year-old Talia Chaya Timsit, who was critically injured in the serious bus crash that took place earlier this week on Dizengoff Street in Tel Aviv, died of her wounds after four days during which doctors fought for her life.

The accident took place on Monday, when a Dan bus operating on Route 62 was involved in a crash in which it struck pedestrians and then also collided with a tree and an electrical pole on Dizengoff Street. As a result of the accident, additional people were injured: two were seriously hurt, another person was moderately injured, and seven others suffered minor injuries. Some of those hurt were passengers who were inside the bus at the time of the crash.

Magen David Adom teams called to the scene provided initial medical treatment to the injured and worked to evacuate the wounded to hospitals. Talia Chaya was evacuated in critical condition while undergoing resuscitation efforts.

Alongside the medical treatment for the injured, a police investigation was opened to examine the circumstances of the accident. The bus driver, a 26-year-old resident of northern Israel, was arrested after the incident and taken in for questioning at the police station.
