The IDF Spokesperson said today (Tuesday) that IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir has decided to dismiss former Military Advocate General Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi from the IDF.

The statement said that "from the moment the suspicions involving the former military prosecutor were uncovered in the 'Sde Teiman' affair, the Chief of Staff decided to suspend her from service immediately. Against the backdrop of the prolonged criminal proceedings, the Chief of Staff decided, given the severity of the actions and the suspicions, to dismiss the former Military Advocate General from service without further delay. In accordance with the dismissal decision, the former Military Advocate General will not be entitled to the 'service period completion' component. As for the issue of rank, in the Chief of Staff's view, it would be appropriate to consider a rank reduction once the facts of the criminal process become clearer and are completed."

It should be noted that Tomer-Yerushalmi was released from custody in November 2025, just a few days after the investigation against her was opened. She is accused of offenses involving the publication of videos in the 'Sde Teiman' affair, as well as obstructing investigative proceedings and giving false testimony to the High Court of Justice.

Defense Minister Israel Katz said following the IDF Spokesperson's announcement: "I commend IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir for the decision to dismiss Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi from the IDF and to deny her the Chief of Staff's enhanced benefits and additional special rights. Immediately after the video leak affair from Sde Teiman was exposed, I acted at once to remove her from her position in light of the serious acts she committed and the severe breach of trust placed in her by IDF commanders and soldiers,.

"The Sde Teiman affair is a severe blood libel against Force 100 and the heroic IDF soldiers, who operate day and night to defend the State of Israel against a cruel enemy. Whoever chose to take part in a move that harmed our fighters and their good name betrayed the trust placed in her within the most sensitive role in the military system. Just yesterday I appealed to the Attorney General with an urgent demand to quickly advance the legal proceedings in the matter of the former Military Advocate General, in order to bring about the stripping of her ranks and her imprisonment for many years because of the serious acts she committed. These grave actions, which harmed IDF soldiers, the defense establishment, and the public's trust as a whole, cannot simply be brushed aside."
