According to the IDF statement, "As part of a prolonged intelligence and operational effort by the IDF, the Shin Bet, and the Gideonim unit, the terrorist Shadi Juma was arrested for his role in the shooting attack in the village of Funduq on November 19, 2007. The terrorist had been released shortly beforehand from detention by the Palestinian Authority, where he had been held until now. After his arrest, he was transferred for questioning by the Israel Security Agency."

The news of the arrest was delivered to Zoldan’s parents, Nachman and Miriam, in a joint conference call attended by the commander of the IDF’s Judea and Samaria Division, Brig. Gen. Kobi Heller, the head of the Shin Bet’s Shomron region, and the head of the Kedumim Council, Uziel Vetik. "We thank our heroic security forces, in the army and in the Shin Bet, for their operational activity and for never forgetting a single murderer," Council head Vetik said following the arrest. "Thank you for pursuing the arrest of this vile man with determination and professionalism, even 18 years after the murder."
The attack took place, as noted, in 2007. Zoldan, 29, from Karnei Shomron, was driving toward his home in Shavei Shomron. A vehicle carrying Palestinian policemen passed him at the exit from the village of Funduq and fired four shots at him. Two of the terrorists, Abdullah Barham and Dafer Barham, were arrested on the night of the murder in the village of Kaddum, where they lived. The third terrorist, Fadi Juma, was arrested about two weeks later by Palestinian security forces, but was not extradited to Israel.
According to their testimony during interrogation, the terrorists said that on the night of the murder they lay in wait on the side of the road for an Israeli vehicle, and when they spotted one passing by them, they began following it, overtook it, and fired at the car. A short time after the murder, the "Army of the Good News" faction of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades claimed responsibility for carrying out the attack.
Zoldan was survived by two small children, Aharon and Rachel. The two terrorists arrested at the time were sentenced to multiple life terms, but in 2025 they were released from prison במסגרת the third Hamas-Israel agreement during the "Swords of Iron" war.
