After an Intensive Security Manhunt, Four Suspects in the Susiya Soldier Attack and Weapon Theft Are Arrested

Security forces announced today (Monday) that they have completed the arrest of the four terrorists involved in the attack on an IDF soldier and the theft of his weapon over the weekend in the Susiya area, within the Yehuda Brigade sector.

According to the joint statement from the IDF Spokesperson, the police, and the Shin Bet, the arrests followed a prolonged intelligence effort and operational activity by the security forces. Immediately after the incident, forces launched extensive searches in the area, during which the stolen weapon was located and two of the suspects involved in the attack were arrested.

Later, overnight, soldiers from the Duvdevan Unit operated in the city of Yatta, in the Yehuda Brigade area, and arrested another suspect involved in the theft of the weapon. Earlier today, after the searches and intelligence activity continued, another suspect whom security officials said was involved in the attack on the soldier turned himself in to Civil Administration forces. All four suspects were transferred for further investigation by the security forces.

The IDF Spokesperson said on Friday evening that terrorists attacked an IDF soldier who was on leave and stole his weapon. The soldier had been out grazing livestock when he was attacked by Palestinians who threw stones at him and struck him in the head.

Magen David Adom senior medic Moshe Lev said: "We met up with the injured man after he was brought to us at the Susiya site junction. He was conscious and suffering from a head injury caused by stone-throwing. We provided medical treatment and evacuated him by Magen David Adom intensive care ambulance to the hospital, where he was listed in moderate and stable condition."
