Targeted IDF Strike in Beirut Reported as Assassination Attempt in Dahiya

The IDF said it carried out a targeted strike in Beirut a short while ago. Earlier, the military confirmed it had expanded its operations in Lebanon, hitting dozens of Hezbollah targets in the Beqaa Valley and southern Lebanon, including launch sites, a training camp, and other terror infrastructure.

The IDF carried out a targeted strike in Beirut today (Thursday), according to an update from the IDF spokesperson. Shortly beforehand, Lebanese media reported an attack in the al-Shuwayfat area of Dahiya, in the Lebanese capital. According to those reports, the target was Ali al-Hissni, who is responsible for the missile array of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

The strike in Beirut comes as the IDF continues its intensive operations against Hezbollah targets across Lebanon. Earlier, the IDF spokesperson said that more than 135 targets belonging to the Hezbollah terror organization were struck over the past 24 hours in Tyre, the Beqaa Valley, and southern Lebanon.

According to the statement, a central focus of the strikes was launch sites used by the organization's operatives to fire rockets toward Israel. The IDF also struck a Hezbollah training camp in the Brital area of the Beqaa Valley.

Overnight, the Israeli Air Force carried out a series of additional strikes in the Tyre area of southern Lebanon. About 15 military infrastructures used by Hezbollah operatives to advance terror activity in the area were hit. It was also reported that the Israeli Air Force eliminated a terror cell as it was leaving a launch site that had been used for rocket fire.
