Honey Nut Tart Recipe: A Rich and Crunchy Dessert with Caramelized Honey Filling

Ingredients
For the Crust
100 g (3.5 oz) butter
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 egg
½ cup powdered sugar
For the Filling
400 g (14 oz) mixed nuts of your choice
50 g (1.75 oz) butter
½ cup honey
½ cup heavy cream
¼ cup brown sugar
Instructions
Prepare the Crust
Cut the cold butter into cubes.
Place it in the bowl of a stand mixer and beat together with the powdered sugar until combined.
Add the flour and egg.
Continue mixing and kneading until a smooth dough forms.
Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours.
Shape and Bake the Crust
Remove the dough from the refrigerator.
Roll it out on a sheet of parchment paper into a circle slightly larger than a 26 cm (10-inch) tart pan.
The dough should be about ½ cm (¼ inch) thick.
Grease the tart pan and carefully transfer the dough into it using the parchment paper.
Press the dough firmly into the bottom and sides of the pan.
Trim away any excess dough.
Prick the bottom of the crust several times with a fork.
Place the pan in the freezer for about 15 minutes.
Blind Bake
Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F).
Transfer the chilled crust directly from the freezer to the oven.
Bake until lightly golden.
Prepare the Filling
In a saucepan, melt the butter, honey, and brown sugar together.
Stir continuously until the sugar dissolves completely.
Carefully and gradually add the heavy cream.
Caution: The mixture may bubble up rapidly when the cream is added.
Continue stirring until the mixture becomes smooth and develops a rich amber color.
Add the Nuts
Add the mixed nuts to the saucepan.
Stir until all the nuts are evenly coated in the caramel-honey mixture.
Assemble and Finish Baking
Pour the nut mixture into the prepared tart shell.
Spread it evenly.
Return the tart to the oven and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes.
Serving Suggestion
Allow the tart to cool completely before slicing. Serve on its own, or pair it with whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, or a cup of coffee for an irresistible dessert.
