The IDF announced on Tuesday that it had carried out a strike in northern Gaza that killed Muhammad Marwan Muhammad Salem, who served as head of military security for Hamas’s Central Jabalia Battalion. According to the IDF Spokesperson’s statement, several additional operatives from the organization’s military wing were also killed in the strike, which was carried out to eliminate a security threat.
According to the IDF, the strike took place earlier in the day in the northern Gaza Strip. Three other Hamas operatives were killed alongside Salem. Each held a different position within the organization and operated in the Jabalia area.
Among those killed was Abd al Malik Abu al Jabin, a Nukhba operative in the Central Jabalia Battalion who also served as head of investigations in the Hamas police force. Yaman Muhammad Jibril Ubaid, an operative in the same battalion, was also killed, along with Ghassan Akram Salama Daks, an operative in the West Jabalia Battalion who was also active in the Hamas police force.
The IDF said the operatives had recently gathered to plan and carry out terrorist attacks. It added: “IDF forces under Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to operate to eliminate any immediate threat.”
