The IDF Spokesperson's Unit announced that three armed Hezbollah operatives were killed on Wednesday in the area of Beit Yahoun, inside the security zone in southern Lebanon, after they were identified moving through the area carrying combat equipment. According to the IDF, the strike was carried out in order to remove a threat to forces operating nearby.

According to the statement, the unit that identified the three operatives was the 869th Divisional Combat Intelligence Collection Battalion, which operates under the command of the 91st Division. Once the identification was made, the intelligence was passed to forces on the ground, and the 401st Brigade acted against the cell without delay. The IDF stressed that operations in the security zone in southern Lebanon are continuing on a regular basis, and that troops are working to prevent the entrenchment of terror elements and to remove threats that could endanger Israeli forces or civilians.

The IDF Spokesperson's Unit concluded: "The IDF will not permit the Hezbollah terror organisation to harm the citizens of the State of Israel or its troops, and will continue operating to eliminate threats."
