Trump on Iran: "We’ll Hit Them Hard Very Soon"

President Donald Trump met today (Tuesday) at the White House with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun. Before the meeting, the American president addressed the war with Iran and the situation in the Middle East.

Trump said that "the Iranians are desperate to meet with us, but until they are ready to do meaningful things, we are not interested in meeting with them. If we leave the fighting with Iran now, it will take them 20-25 years to recover. We are absolutely not finished with the job, and we are not ready to leave at this stage. Iran has not seen anything yet. We have been nice".

The American president was asked whether the U.S. military intends to strike the Iranian facility at Har HaMachosh. Trump replied: "We will strike at Har HaMachosh very soon. We will hit hard at every new site. We will hit them hard very soon". It should be noted that according to information held by Israel and the United States, there is a strong chance that Iran hid some of its enriched uranium at this mountain.

Trump was also asked about the Houthis, who threatened to close the Bab el-Mandeb strait, and replied: "We’ll have to see what happens if they close Bab el-Mandeb. That has not happened yet, but we’ll have to see what happens if it does. There has not been a problem with the Houthis for a long time."

As for the situation in Lebanon, Trump said that "Lebanon has been hit hard for many decades. We are going to help them a lot." The Lebanese president thanked Trump for the "historic visit and the historic achievements together, and for signing the framework agreement to end the hostilities between Israel and Lebanon.

Aoun said: "The time has come for the region to be stable and secure. Your vision is peace, and I have the same vision. I believe we can achieve that goal together. The ultimate goal is to put an end to the state of hostility between Lebanon and Israel once and for all."

When asked about the fact that Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri rejected the agreement and said it was incitement, Aoun replied: "In fact, the framework of understandings does not require parliamentary approval. This is part of our constitution. It is the president’s authority, and we are committed to it. But I can tell you that the speaker of parliament is a statesman. He supports what we are doing, and he supports ending the state of hostility, ending the war once and for all."

Trump also addressed the Abraham Accords. In his words, "The Abraham Accords have been a tremendous success, and I believe we will see more countries joining soon. Economically, it is very successful. No one left the agreement even during the conflict, and I believe Lebanon has a very important place in it."
