Report: Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Are Smuggling Covert Operatives Into Britain Posing as Migrants

The British Telegraph reported Sunday that Iran’s Revolutionary Guards are smuggling covert operatives into Britain, disguised as migrants arriving in small boats crossing the English Channel. According to the report, human smugglers operating in Europe said the Iranian regime is helping migrants living in Calais, France, reach Britain in exchange for a “returned favor” they will be required to carry out for Iran after they settle in England.

The report claimed that operatives caught on boats in the Channel are linked to Iran’s Intelligence Ministry, which is responsible for intelligence and security operations outside the country’s borders. The smuggled operatives who were captured are said to be directed by Unit 700 of the *Quds* Force within the Revolutionary Guards. At the same time, officials in Britain noted that the number of people identified with the Revolutionary Guards entering the U.K. on legal flights from Europe may be far higher than the number arriving by boat.

U.S. Imposes Sanctions on Senior Muslim Brotherhood Figure and Groups Accused of Backing Hamas

The United States announced a series of sanctions against a senior Egyptian figure in the Muslim Brotherhood who lives in Britain, as well as against three individuals and three organizations outside Egypt that provided material support to Hamas. State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott said the move is intended to disrupt shell organizations that channel money to finance terrorism.

Pigott said that “the action exposes Muslim Brotherhood branches and Hamas-directed shell organizations that use charitable fronts and underground networks to conceal and transfer funds in support of terrorism.”
