Another Wave of Targeted Killings: IDF Strike Reportedly Takes Out Senior Hamas Figures in Central Gaza

Palestinian reports said today (Sunday) that an IDF drone killed the commander of Hamas’s Internal Security apparatus in the central camps district of the Gaza Strip. According to those reports, the strike targeted a Hamas jeep hit by three missiles while traveling through the Jamil Wadi junction, between Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis.

As a result of the strike, two senior officials in Hamas’s Internal Security apparatus who were traveling in the jeep were killed: Wael al-Dadawi, 44, commander of Hamas’s Internal Security apparatus in the central camps district, holding a rank equivalent to lieutenant colonel; and Ramez Abu Zreik, 49, with a rank equivalent to major — also from the same apparatus — who served as al-Dadawi’s deputy.

Meanwhile, the IDF spokesperson confirmed that the IDF carried out a strike last week in northern Gaza and killed the terrorist Fares al-Masri, head of a section in Hamas’s production headquarters. The IDF said that “al-Masri was involved in manufacturing weapons as part of the terror organization’s efforts to rebuild, in violation of the ceasefire agreement.”

In an additional strike in northern Gaza last week, the IDF also killed Muhammad Abu Shakyan, a Hamas *Nukhba* terrorist. The IDF spokesperson said the two terrorists had recently been working to advance terror plans against IDF forces and Israeli civilians, and were killed in order to eliminate the threat.
