Second Straight Day: Israeli Air Force Intercepts Drone Near Jordan Border

The IDF spokesperson said this morning (Tuesday) that the Israeli Air Force intercepted a drone detected in the area of the Jordan border. According to the statement, "The aircraft did not cross into Israeli territory, and the source of the launch is under review." It was also stated that no alerts were activated, in accordance with policy.

This is the second day in a row that the Air Force has intercepted drones near the Jordan border. The military has not said where the aircraft was launched from. As previously reported, yesterday the IDF intercepted two aircraft detected in the Jordan border area. In that case as well, the aircraft did not cross into Israeli territory, and the source of the launch is under review.

Army Radio reported that the drones near the Jordan border were intercepted using a fighter jet and electronic warfare. At this stage, no group has claimed responsibility for launching the hostile aircraft toward eastern Israel. The current assessment, according to the report, is that they were launched by militias in Iraq.
