Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu concluded his meeting this evening (Tuesday) with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House. Shortly afterward, Netanyahu released a video emphasizing the strength of the relationship between the two countries and the coordination reached during the talks.
In Netanyahu’s words: "I have just concluded an excellent meeting with President Trump. When I say excellent, I do not say it lightly. This is a full partnership, with mutual support and an understanding of the shared goal of ensuring that Iran does not have nuclear weapons, as well as other objectives."
Netanyahu added that senior Israeli and American teams also took part in the meeting, which was used to coordinate positions on issues of strategic importance: "This was an opportunity to exchange ideas and also carry out coordination that is important for the security and future of the State of Israel. This was one of the best conversations I’ve had with President Trump."
At the end of his remarks, the prime minister addressed the rest of his schedule in Washington, noting that immediately after the meeting, he and his wife Sara would continue to the memorial service for American Senator Lindsey Graham: "From here, I am going with my wife Sara to the memorial service for a wonderful friend of ours, Lindsey Graham. I am sure that I represent all the citizens of Israel here."
