No matter how many years go by, this recipe never goes out of style. The moment you make it, it brings back the sweet memories and familiar aroma of childhood. Whether you're preparing it with the kids on a lazy afternoon, making it for Shabbat, or simply craving something sweet, these classic chocolate balls are an easy, nostalgic dessert that never disappoints.
Classic Chocolate Balls
Ingredients
2 packages Petit Beurre biscuits (500 g / about 1.1 lb), crushed
100 g (3.5 oz) butter, melted
1 cup milk
4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
½ cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Coating
Shredded coconut
Colorful sprinkles
Grated chocolate (optional)
Instructions
Crush the Petit Beurre biscuits into small pieces. Leave some larger chunks for added texture.
In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, milk, cocoa powder, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Pour the mixture over the crushed biscuits and stir until all the crumbs are evenly coated.
Refrigerate for about 15 minutes, allowing the mixture to firm up slightly.
Roll the mixture into balls of your preferred size.
Coat each chocolate ball in shredded coconut, colorful sprinkles, chocolate sprinkles, or grated chocolate.
Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.
Tip
If the mixture is too soft, add a little more crushed Petit Beurre biscuits. If it feels too dry, mix in 2 to 3 tablespoons of milk. This will give you chocolate balls that are perfectly firm, soft, and delicious — just like the ones you remember from childhood.
Enjoy!
