Trump: Iran’s Leadership Is “Two-Faced”

U.S. President Donald Trump responded this evening (Monday, Israel time) to statements issued by Iranian officials claiming that there are no talks with the United States and no negotiations.<\/p>

Trump accused Iran’s leadership of being “two-faced in an unbelievable way,” claiming that “they ask for a meeting—some would say ‘beg’—talks begin, and additional talks are scheduled for the near future, and then they say they are holding no discussions, that nothing is being discussed, and that they are dealing only with ‘Oman.’”<\/p>

In a post he published on his Truth Social network, Trump added: “They then continue with their usual nonsense and say that the Strait of Hormuz will be forcefully activated by them, when it is already completely controlled by the U.S. Navy.”<\/p>

“Because of our blockade—or, as some call it, ‘the Steel Wall of the United States!’—nothing is getting through to Iran unless we want it to, and nothing will get through unless an agreement is reached or there is total surrender. Whether Iran wants to admit it or not, we are actually discussing a solution to the problem they created over decades. It is very simple: Iran will never have a nuclear weapon!”<\/p>

“This is Iran’s last chance to sign the document. Talks are taking place right now. They say there are no talks, but there are talks; they just issued a statement saying there are talks. For some unclear reason, they say there are no talks, but there are. We were about to attack them and hit them very hard, harder than any attack since World War II. Several leaders begged us not to hurt them, especially the Iranians, who said they wanted to talk. We are talking about opening Hormuz as early as tomorrow.”<\/span><\/p>

“I will not allow Iran to collect tolls in the strait. We are the ones who should collect fees, because we control the strait with the blockade. There will be no collection of fees.”<\/p><\/p>
