After Deadly Explosive Incident in Lebanon, IDF Expands Strikes on Hezbollah Infrastructure

The IDF said it expanded its operations in southern Lebanon following an incident that killed two reservists, Maj. Harel Birenstock and Master Sgt. Tamir Vakin. The targets included weapons depots, a command center, and additional terror infrastructure.

Following the serious incident in the Majdal Zoun area, in which Maj. Harel Birenstock and Master Sgt. Tamir Vakin were killed and four additional soldiers were seriously wounded, the IDF announced today (Thursday) that over the past day it carried out a series of strikes against infrastructure belonging to the Hezbollah terrorist organization in southern Lebanon.

The IDF also said its forces remain deployed in the security zone in southern Lebanon in accordance with the agreement, and that their operations in the area are continuing in order to remove security threats. The military emphasized that the forces "will continue operating to remove threats to the citizens of the State of Israel and IDF forces."
