Two Israelis Escape Jenin After Wrong Turn Turns Violent

The IDF Spokesperson said Thursday afternoon that a report had been received about two Israeli civilians who accidentally entered the Jenin area. The civilians were attacked by terrorists who threw stones and a brick at them. The brick caused damage to the vehicle, but there were no injuries.

The civilians managed to leave the area and joined IDF forces at the Gilboa crossing. After the report was received, IDF forces were deployed for operational activity and the arrest of wanted suspects in the Jenin area.

According to reports, the two were a mother and her son, residents of Samaria, who were on their way to Afula and accidentally entered Jenin. They managed to flee in their vehicle before the Palestinian crowd surrounded them. The mother recounted: "My oldest son and I wanted to get to Afula to meet friends. While we were driving, stuck in traffic, I realized we had taken a wrong turn and that Waze had led us to Jenin. When the traffic cleared, dozens of Arabs began approaching us. They tried to open the doors, threw stones at us, and tried to stop us. I drove as fast as I could and managed to get out of there with my son. Thank Hashem that we were saved."
