A Bar Mitzvah Celebration in Israel Becomes a Gift for Paratroopers

An especially moving bar mitzvah was celebrated in Israel this week, when a Haredi family visiting from the United States chose to mark their son's entry into Jewish adulthood in a unique way. Wanting to express their deep appreciation for IDF soldiers who serve the people of Israel with devotion and self-sacrifice, the family decided to give a gift with spiritual meaning: 25 elegant sets of tefillin for soldiers in the Paratroopers Brigade. The heartfelt initiative took place as part of the family's bar mitzvah celebrations, as a sign of appreciation for the forces' work and a desire to help many others fulfill this mitzvah.

As part of the initiative, a tefillin presentation ceremony was held with soldiers and family representatives, who came especially to personally deliver the sets to the troops. During the gathering, 25 sets were distributed to brigade soldiers who did not own a pair of tefillin.

During the distribution ceremony, family members shared the feelings behind their decision: "For us, this is the greatest privilege—to celebrate our son's entry into Jewish adulthood by strengthening IDF soldiers and preserving our connection and tradition." The special gesture made a positive impression on the soldiers, who promised to put on tefillin.
