Golani Reconnaissance Unit soldiers have completed an extended stretch of operational activity in the Beaufort area, after nearly 50 days of operating against the infrastructure and capabilities of the Hezbollah terror organization, the IDF Spokesperson said today (Wednesday). With the operation now complete, the soldiers are heading out for unit rest and recovery, while continuing to maintain their readiness for upcoming missions.

During this period, the forces operated in an area that served as a major Hezbollah stronghold. As part of the operation, the soldiers established and reinforced operational control in the area, while striking infrastructure used by the terror organization and its capabilities in the region.

According to the IDF Spokesperson, over the course of nearly 50 days of operations, Golani Reconnaissance Unit soldiers destroyed more than 300 terror sites. The forces also located and destroyed weapons and storage facilities used by Hezbollah. The entire operation was intended to reduce and thwart the organization’s capabilities in the area, while reinforcing the forces’ operational control of the Beaufort region.

The IDF emphasized that the soldiers’ departure for rest and recovery does not change the need to maintain their readiness going forward. After the extended period in which they operated in the Beaufort area against Hezbollah infrastructure, the soldiers will continue to maintain operational fitness and readiness for the missions assigned to them in the future.
