IDF Strikes Hezbollah Infrastructure in Lebanon; Lebanese President Calls for Halt to Attacks
The IDF struck southern Lebanon after Hezbollah operatives launched explosive drones toward IDF forces. Lebanese reports say two people were killed and five injured. Lebanon’s president is calling for an end to the Israeli strikes.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun called on the international community Sunday afternoon to pressure Israel to stop its strikes in southern Lebanon. According to him, "Today’s Israeli attacks in Nabatieh are a dangerous escalation that goes beyond the bounds of the repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement."
Aoun called on the United States and the international community to act urgently to "stop these violations and hold their perpetrators accountable." In Lebanon, reports said that five people were wounded by artillery fire on the village of Roumine in the country’s south, while two were killed in a targeted IDF strike in the Nabatieh area.
Earlier, the IDF Spokesperson said that in response to the launch of two explosive drones toward its forces in the security zone, the IDF struck Hezbollah operatives and infrastructure in southern Lebanon.
As part of the strikes, the Air Force targeted weapons-storage facilities and terrorist buildings intended to be used by operatives from the terrorist organization to plan and direct terrorist operations in the security zone. In addition, the IDF struck a Hezbollah command center established inside a building that had previously served as a hospital. In recent months, Hezbollah operatives had been operating from the command center, including conducting surveillance and artillery activity.
All of the targets were struck to remove the threat, after the organization’s operatives used them to advance terrorist operations against IDF forces and Israeli civilians. The IDF Spokesperson stressed that "the Hezbollah terrorist organization uses medical infrastructure to advance terrorist operations. The strikes were carried out in response to Hezbollah’s attempted operation yesterday against IDF forces operating in the Ali al-Taher Ridge area, during which two explosive drones were launched toward the forces. There were no casualties among our forces. Before the strikes, precautions were taken to reduce anticipated harm to civilians, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance."
