IDF Kills Hamas Nukhba Terrorist Involved in Murder of Nahal Brigade Commander on October 7
The IDF killed Ismail Qandil in Khan Younis, a Hamas Nukhba terrorist who took part in the October 7 massacre and the murder of Nahal Brigade Commander Col. Yehonatan Steinberg, of blessed memory. The military said he had recently been working to rebuild Hamas capabilities and advance terror plans.

Qandil, a Nukhba terrorist in Hamas’ military wing, took part in the October 7 massacre and was involved in the killing of Nahal Brigade Commander Col. Yehonatan Steinberg, of blessed memory.
The strike that killed Qandil was carried out earlier this week, on Monday, in the Khan Younis area. According to the IDF Spokesperson’s statement, Qandil had continued terrorist activity in recent months. The military said he was advancing terror plans intended to harm IDF troops and Israeli civilians, while also working to rebuild Hamas’ capabilities.
The IDF emphasized that his actions were carried out in systematic violation of the ceasefire, and that the decision to act against him was made in light of the threat he posed.
The IDF also said that Southern Command forces remain deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement. The military made clear that operations to eliminate threats will continue: "IDF forces in Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue operating to eliminate any immediate threat."
