In the United States, preparations are moving forward for the possibility of renewing the military campaign against Iran. According to a report published overnight, between Wednesday and Thursday, by Axios, the Pentagon instructed U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) several days ago to complete preparations for large-scale combat operations inside Iran. The directive was issued without a set date for an attack, and at this stage, U.S. President Donald Trump has not yet made a final decision on the matter.

According to Israeli and American officials, the possibility of launching another campaign even before the U.S. midterm elections is on the table. Action before the Israeli elections, which will take place a week earlier, is also being considered. If a decision to strike is made, the operation is expected to include massive bombings of nuclear facilities, energy infrastructure, and other targets in Iran.

Discussions on the matter also took place last Friday, when Trump’s national security team convened at Camp David. At the same time, The Atlantic reported on Wednesday that Trump is considering a strike before the elections. A Pentagon official clarified: “The department’s role is to develop and present military options to the president.”

The White House emphasized that all options remain open. An administration official said: “The United States is in a very strong position with its control of the Strait of Hormuz, while the Iranian economy is collapsing.” According to the official, “Iran has been destroyed, and things will go one of two ways: the easy way or the hard way. President Trump holds all the cards and will do whatever is best for the United States.”
