The family got off the bus without realizing the boy was still asleep in his seat. The bus continued to its terminal in the a-Tur area, where he got off and was later found alone, without a phone.

The new Dutch government announced that starting in mid-September, imports from Jewish communities in the West Bank and East Jerusalem will be banned. Prime Minister Rob Jetten said, "The ban is intended to prevent any contribution to the illegal occupation."

Five East Jerusalem residents were arrested by the Shin Bet and police. Authorities say they were directed by Salah Hamouri, a senior figure in the Popular Front. Hamouri was also involved, among other things, in the 2005 attempted assassination of Rabbi Ovadia Yosef.

Shin Bet intelligence spurred a rapid undercover arrest in East Jerusalem’s Abu Tor after indications the suspect intended to strike during Jerusalem Day events. Officers detained him without injuries and transferred him to the Israel Security Agency for questioning.
