For the first time since the start of Operation \"Roar of the Lion,\" the terror group from Yemen launched a ballistic missile toward southern Israel this morning. Sirens sounded in Eilat and the southern Negev. The Houthi missile was intercepted.
Later, before noon, another launch was detected and an early warning was activated for a limited area in the Negev that includes Ashalim, Be'er Milka, Bir Hadaj, Tlalim, Yeruham, Kmehin, Midreshet Ben-Gurion, Mitzpe Ramon, Merhav Am, Mashabei Sadeh, Nitzana, Ezuz, Kadesh Barnea, Revivim, Retamim, Shanti BaMidbar, Sde Boker. It was later determined to be a cruise missile, and it too was intercepted.
In the evening, sirens were activated in Eilat and the surrounding area due to the infiltration of a hostile aircraft, apparently launched from Yemen. In all cases, no damage or injuries were reported.
This morning's launch from Yemen came after the Houthis last night published a statement in which they threatened to join the war, writing that \"the finger is on the trigger\" and that they would do so in the following scenarios: \"the entry of any other alliance with America and Israel against Iran and the resistance; using the Red Sea to carry out hostile actions against Iran and any Muslim country; continued escalation against Iran and the axis, as required on the military front\".
The statement also said the Houthis' military actions are directed against \"the Israeli and American enemy in order to thwart the Zionist plan, and are not directed against any Muslim people\". The Houthis also announced their intention to work to close the Bab el-Mandeb strait in the Red Sea.
