No-Bake Passover Chocolate Matzah Cake with Cocoa Cream

Easy layered matzah cake soaked in coffee and filled with rich cocoa cream for a perfect Passover dessert

Ingredients

For the Matzah Layers:

  • 5 matzot

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 teaspoon instant coffee

For the Cream:

  • 100 g butter or margarine

  • 1/4 cup red wine

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 5 heaping tablespoons cocoa powder

Instructions

In a saucepan, combine the wine, water, sugar, and cocoa. Bring to a boil while stirring. Once boiling, add the butter or margarine and continue stirring until fully melted. Set aside to cool.

Dissolve the instant coffee in the water and pour into a wide dish. Dip each matzah into the coffee mixture and place it on a serving tray. Spread a layer of the cream over the matzah.

Place another matzah on top and spread more cream. Repeat until you have 5 layers.

If desired, decorate the top layer with sprinkles or shredded coconut.
