IDF Confirms: Hamas Khan Younis Brigade Commander Killed
Muhammad Yazouri, who commanded the Khan Younis Brigade and advanced dozens of terror plans against IDF forces, was killed in a precise strike. A company commander and another brigade operative in southern Gaza were also killed alongside him.
(Credit: IDF Spokesperson)The IDF and Shin Bet killed Muhammad Yazouri, commander of Hamas’ Khan Younis Brigade in the Gaza Strip, in a precise strike in the Khan Younis area last night (Thursday). Two additional brigade operatives, including a company commander, were also killed in the strike.
Yazouri assumed the role of brigade commander after serving in a series of key positions within the brigade over the years. Among other roles, he served as deputy commander of the Khan Younis Brigade, commander of the combat support battalion, and head of the brigade’s intelligence department.
As brigade commander, Yazouri was responsible for managing the activities of Hamas operatives under his command and directing them in advancing and carrying out terror plans against IDF forces and Israeli civilians.
In recent months, according to the announcement, Yazouri worked to advance dozens of terror plans against IDF forces. At the same time, he was involved in efforts to rebuild the Khan Younis Brigade’s military capabilities after it had been severely damaged throughout the war.
Hudhayfa Muammar, who served as a company commander in the brigade, was also killed in the same strike that killed Yazouri. In addition, Muhammad Bahjat Rashi, another Hamas military wing operative in the Khan Younis Brigade, was killed.
