Classic Dried Fruit Compote Recipe: Sweet, Refreshing, and Easy

Perfectly balanced with lemon and a hint of strawberry, served chilled for a refreshing dessert

Ingredients

1 cup dried prunes
¾ cup dried apples
¾ cup dried apricots
¾ cup white raisins
1 cup sugar
Juice of 2 lemons (about ¼ cup)
1.7 oz (about 48 g) strawberry gelatin powder (1 standard packet)
12 cups water

Instructions

Soak all the dried fruits in lukewarm water for about 15 minutes.

Bring the water to a boil in a large pot. Add the dried fruits and bring back to a boil.

Stir in the strawberry gelatin powder until fully dissolved. Add the sugar and lemon juice, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes.

Chill well in the refrigerator. Serve cold in individual cups.
