Sometimes, the simplest recipes are the ones you'll make again and again.
Soft Homemade Dairy Wraps
Ingredients
- ¾ cup milk
- 50 g butter
- 2 cups whole spelt flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
Directions
Step 1: Heat the Milk and Butter
In a small saucepan, gently heat the milk and butter together.
Do not let the milk boil. Heat only until the butter has completely melted and blended into the milk.
Step 2: Make the Dough
Transfer the warm milk mixture to a food processor or mixing bowl.
Add:
- Whole spelt flour
- Salt
Mix or knead for 1–2 minutes, until a smooth dough forms.
Step 3: Divide the Dough
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured work surface.
Divide it into:
- 4 pieces for large wraps, or
- 6 pieces for medium wraps.
Step 4: Roll Out the Wraps
Roll each piece into a thin, round wrap.
Try to keep the thickness even so they cook uniformly.
Step 5: Cook the Wraps
Lightly grease a skillet with a little butter and heat over medium heat.
Cook one wrap at a time.
Once bubbles begin to appear on the surface, flip it over and cook the second side until lightly golden.
Repeat with the remaining dough, adding a little more butter to the pan if needed.
To keep the wraps soft, stack them on a plate with a sheet of paper towel or parchment paper between each one.
