The IDF continues to target Hamas’s underground infrastructure in the Gaza Strip: The IDF Spokesperson announced today (Wednesday) that troops from the Southern Brigade and soldiers from the Yahalom unit sealed two additional underground routes used by the terrorist organization, with a combined length of more than two kilometers.
The operation was carried out in the central camps area and in the southern part of the Strip, east of the Yellow Line.
The forces are operating under the command of the Gaza Division’s Engineering Unit (143), as part of the continued effort to clear the areas where they are stationed of terrorist infrastructure. As part of that effort, the two routes were located, after which the forces worked to seal them as part of the broader operation to neutralize the tunnel network of terrorist organizations in the Strip.
One of the sealed routes was located in southern Gaza, while the other was found in the central camps area. The IDF released footage from both routes, as well as images documenting the sealing operation in the central camps area.
The underground operation is taking place alongside the continued deployment of IDF forces under Southern Command in the area. According to the military’s announcement, the forces are stationed in accordance with the framework established under the ceasefire agreement, while continuing to act against threats and terrorist infrastructure in the areas where they are deployed.
