Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed this evening (Monday) that Iran tried to murder one of his sons, information that had been prohibited from publication for months due to censorship restrictions.

The prime minister’s revelation comes after Iranian state television earlier aired a video describing attempts to assassinate Barron Trump, the son of U.S. President Donald Trump, for a $10 million reward.

According to Iran International, this was an unusual and relatively explicit threat against an immediate family member of the American president. The roughly three-minute segment focused on Barron and presented alleged efforts to identify ways to reach him.

According to the report, the broadcast described an attempt to map the social connections around Trump’s son and penetrate the layers of security provided by the American Secret Service. However, Iran International clarified that it was unable to independently verify the operational claims presented on Iranian television.

For years, threats have been made against Donald Trump and current and former American officials. Similar videos targeting Trump and his wife Melania have also been published.
