Moshe Edri, head of Israel’s Atomic Energy Commission, addressed the International Atomic Energy Agency conference in Vienna: “Iran continues to violate its commitments, and Syria under Assad sought to develop covert nuclear weapons.”

The IAEA identified movement around the underground construction site at Mount Kolang Gaz La, near Natanz. U.S. President Donald Trump warned Tehran against continuing its activity, saying: “I would advise Iran not to get smart.”

The International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed that its inspectors found uranium remnants at a Syrian site the Assad regime tried to conceal. The inspectors’ report states: "The findings discovered at the site are consistent with a nuclear reactor."

Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani acknowledged at a joint press conference with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi that Syria possesses nuclear material. He stressed: “It will remain in our custody; we have the right to use it for civilian purposes.”

A Syrian facility dating back to the Assad regime stored nuclear material that could be used to make a “dirty bomb.” Israel reportedly threatened to strike the site unless the material was removed. Under an understanding reached with the United States and Syria, International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors will take the material out of the country.

According to a Wall Street Journal report, Israel told the United States that Iran transferred thousands of centrifuges to Mount Kolang Gaz La, near Natanz. In the West, officials fear the move is aimed at rebuilding Iran’s nuclear program.

Despite Tehran’s denials, IAEA chief Rafael Grossi said visits by agency inspectors to Iran’s nuclear facilities are explicitly included in the temporary memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran and are expected to begin soon.
