President Donald Trump said there is no urgent need to reach Iran’s nuclear materials because they are buried deep underground. At the same time, he warned that negotiations would stop if it turns out Tehran is collecting payments from ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Contacts between the United States and Iran are moving toward a draft agreement, but major disputes remain unresolved. In Tehran, officials insist the nuclear issue is not part of the initial understandings. A senior Israeli official said, “Trump made clear that he will stand firm in the negotiations on his consistent demand to dismantle Iran’s nuclear program.”

Experts are warning of a "cascading digital disaster" that could hit global internet traffic, banking, and the oil and gas industry if Iran follows through on its threat to charge fees for the use of undersea internet cables passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

The United Arab Emirates said it intercepted two drones that entered the country from the west. A separate drone struck a nuclear power station, causing damage. The assessment: the Houthis were behind the attack, acting on Iran’s orders. Iranian media also published the terms of a U.S. proposal that Tehran rejected.

In a post on X, Iranian parliament spokesman Ebrahim Rezaei warned the U.S. and Israel, saying lawmakers may consider 90% enrichment if Iran is attacked again. U.S. and Israeli intelligence agree: Tehran’s nuclear program won’t be curbed unless its enriched-uranium stockpile is removed or destroyed.
