Nuclear Program

A new diplomatic proposal aims to prevent renewed war between the US and Iran, offering access to frozen Iranian funds in exchange for nuclear inspections, as Tehran rejects concessions and tensions rise in the Strait of Hormuz

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio says Iran is the main obstacle to regional stability. Tehran warns of a "devastating blow" if the US and Israel attack, while Russia offers to remove Iran's enriched nuclear material.

According to a report by Iram News, the Trump administration is weighing a strike on Kharg Island, through which most of Iran's oil passes. The move is intended to increase pressure on Tehran over the nuclear issue and the Strait of Hormuz, ahead of the US elections.

According to a Wall Street Journal report, Israel told the United States that Iran transferred thousands of centrifuges to Mount Kolang Gaz La, near Natanz. In the West, officials fear the move is aimed at rebuilding Iran’s nuclear program.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited a uranium enrichment facility and declared that the country’s ability to produce nuclear material has more than doubled over the past five years. He also ordered an increase in output.

U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters the naval blockade on Iran will continue and vowed to stop Tehran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. He predicted Iran’s economy would collapse and said the U.S. expects to receive 60% enriched uranium; Pete Hegseth said escalation plans are ready, while Iran warned it could go to 90% enrichment.

Despite months of fighting and targeted strikes, Washington says Iran’s nuclear timeline has barely budged. The IAEA warns it can’t track key stockpiles of highly enriched uranium.

An Israeli official told CNN the allies are preparing a "short operation" aimed at Iran's energy infrastructure and senior regime figures, as Washington warns Tehran it will face "overwhelming force" if it targets commercial shipping.

Tehran lays out a three-stage plan: mutual U.S.–Iran non-aggression that also covers Iran’s allies and Israel, an international mechanism to prevent renewed fighting, a 15-year pause on enrichment followed by a 3.6% cap under zero stockpiling, and region-wide security talks—while refusing to dismantle nuclear infrastructure or destroy facilities.

Days after saying it would keep enriching and not hand uranium to a third party, Tehran is reportedly weighing a compromise—sending it only to ally Pakistan. Talks with U.S. envoys in two days remain uncertain.

On Holocaust Remembrance Day, Israel Katz says Iran’s nuclear program and its ability to produce a nuclear weapon have been destroyed, and that the U.S. and Israel require the removal of enriched material from Iran as a precondition to ending the campaign; he adds that Tehran’s proxies have been dealt heavy blows but vows to finish the job.
