Amid IDF operations in southern Lebanon, a contractor performing Defense Ministry engineering work was killed by an explosive UAV.

After Hezbollah labeled his government “traitors” over efforts to engage Israel, Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun said he is working to end the war without a “humiliating” deal.

At the IDF Senior Command Conference, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel is striking within the security zone and north of the Litani, maintaining freedom of action under agreements with the U.S. and Lebanon. He warned that two key Hezbollah threats remain.

At Sunday’s cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned a murder in Petah Tikva, denounced the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, and addressed the northern front, saying the IDF is operating in Lebanon "with force" and that Hezbollah’s violations are eroding the cease-fire.

Hezbollah is stepping up fire despite the cease-fire. An anti-tank missile landed near IDF troops with no injuries, as Israel strikes Hezbollah sites and issues a broad safety warning to southern Lebanon residents.

Israel’s and Lebanon’s ambassadors in Washington meet tomorrow for another round of talks. Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun sets an initial condition of an IDF withdrawal from Lebanese territory and calls for at least a one-month ceasefire. Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar: "Hezbollah is a shared enemy of Israel and Lebanon. It harms Lebanon’s future."

At a Mount Herzl ceremony in Jerusalem, Israel Katz outlined the IDF’s posture in southern Lebanon, said Israel will strike "even during the cease-fire" to protect troops, and touted significant blows to Iran. Memorial Day observances continue nationwide with a two-minute siren at 11 a.m., followed by ceremonies across the country.

Five divisions and Navy forces are operating south of the line; Lebanese reports cite exchanges of fire with Hezbollah and homes detonated in several villages.

Cleared for publication Sunday morning: Master Sgt. (res.) Lidor Porat of Ashdod was killed overnight when an IDF engineering vehicle hit an explosive device planted by Hezbollah along the forward line in southern Lebanon. Nine troops were wounded. In a separate incident, Master Sgt. (res.) Barak Kalfon, 48, was also killed.

In a surprise Truth Social post, the U.S. president declared Israel is barred from striking inside Lebanon and said he will invite Lebanon’s Joseph Aoun and Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu to Washington.
