President Donald Trump discussed negotiations with Iran in an interview with Fox News, saying the Strait of Hormuz will "reopen very soon." Later in the interview, he said: "We are having very good discussions with the Iranians. We will know where we stand within 48 hours."

Iran says vessels will be charged “service fees” for security and related services. The U.S. denies the payments are part of the agreement and says no fees will be collected.

The United States asked Britain and France to join an international naval force to protect ships traveling through the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. Both European countries declined the request.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Tehran will not let Washington dictate the terms for ending the fighting, and insisted the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky said: "If Iran attacks us, we will strike inside Iranian territory."

A senior Iranian official says Tehran has received proposals to lower tensions and is signaling that talks with the U.S. may still be possible. At the same time, strikes are continuing, and both Israel and the United States are preparing for the possibility of a broader escalation.

The United States completed its ninth consecutive wave of strikes against military targets in Iran. In Tehran, threats around the Strait of Hormuz escalated. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said: "We remain open to the possibility of a diplomatic solution."
