Hezbollah is facing its most severe financial crisis in years as a joint Israeli-American effort targets its funding sources. The consequences are already being felt in salaries, compensation payments, and the social welfare network the organization relies on.

Four additional soldiers were seriously injured in last week’s southern Lebanon incident, in which Maj. (res.) Harel Berenstock and Master Sgt. (res.) Tamir Vaknin, of blessed memory, were killed. The family of Dolev, 26, from Karmiel, is asking the public to pray for his recovery: Dolev ben Atara.

Arab media outlets reported that during negotiations between Israel and Lebanon, the possibility was raised that Israel would release Lebanese prisoners in exchange for the remains of Jews buried in Lebanon. Talks between the sides are expected to continue next month.

The IDF said it expanded its operations in southern Lebanon following an incident that killed two reservists, Maj. Harel Birenstock and Master Sgt. Tamir Vakin. The targets included weapons depots, a command center, and additional terror infrastructure.

The IDF condemned the crossing of 10 teenage girls into Lebanon and called for legal action against those involved. Security officials warn that repeated incidents disrupt operational activity and place added strain on forces.

The IDF sought a forceful response to a serious Hezbollah violation, but the plan was halted. Reports say Lebanon is applying pressure during talks in Rome in an effort to prevent further escalation.

IDF forces are continuing security operations in southern Lebanon against Hezbollah infrastructure. During the operation, troops destroyed a tunnel and located weapons depots containing rockets, launchers, and additional weapons.

IDF forces identified Hezbollah operatives overnight in a security zone in southern Lebanon and eliminated them. A combat officer was moderately wounded during the encounter, while military operations in the area continue.

After eight months of operational activity in southern Lebanon, the 401 Brigade Combat Team has completed its mission. During the operation, terror infrastructure was destroyed, weapons were located, and Hezbollah terrorists were killed.

Lebanon’s prosecutor received a request from a group of lawyers to arrest Lebanese American businessman Antoine Sfeir after he was filmed speaking with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at a Washington dinner.

Ahead of talks expected next week in Italy, Israel has told Lebanon it will maintain security freedom of action in evacuated areas. Lebanon opposes the demand.

Kozo Okamoto, 78, died in Beirut, where he had lived since being released from an Israeli prison in 1985 as part of the Jibril prisoner exchange. In 1972, he and two other terrorists murdered 24 people in an attack at Ben Gurion Airport.
