A firestorm erupted after Ben-Gurion University’s official website published an article accusing Israel of genocide in Gaza. The university says it was a technical error, but soldiers and right-wing groups are furious.

Capt. Maoz Yisrael Rekanti הי"ד was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. The officer was killed in combat in southern Lebanon after an explosive drone strike. His mother, Ayelet, said: "You demanded of yourself Torah learning, modesty, to be a man of pure and spotless truth."

Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee Chair MK Boaz Bismuth slammed IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir over a 30-day prison sentence given to a Nahal soldier who wore a "Messiah" patch. Speaking with the soldier’s parents, he said, "The punishment is disproportionate, wrong, and unjust."

In Israel, officials are seeing growing signs that the United States may be nearing a decision on military action against Iran, though the timing remains unclear. The IDF is raising its alert level and maintaining especially close coordination with the United States.

The IDF said it killed Bahaa' Baroud in the Gaza Strip, identifying him as a commander in Hamas's operations headquarters. According to the military, Baroud was involved in planning and advancing numerous terror attacks against IDF forces in Gaza.

The U.S. administration said talks between Israel and Lebanon ended with an agreement to extend the ceasefire by 45 days. Hezbollah responded with drones and explosive UAVs aimed at northern Israel, while the IDF carried out strikes in southern Lebanon.

Ezz al-Din al-Haddad, the head of Hamas’s military wing and one of the architects of the October 7 massacre, was killed in a strike on his hideout apartment in Gaza City’s Rimal neighborhood. IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir ordered heightened readiness in southern Israel.

In a joint operation, the Shin Bet and Central District Police have exposed an Israeli citizen from Tira who was actively carrying out security missions for Iranian intelligence, including photographing sensitive military sites.
